We offer karate, jujitsu & self defense programs for men, women, & children.
New Horizon Karate offers after school programs in karate & jujitsu for children of all ages as well and daytime classes of home school students. Our adult class meet at noon and also in the evenings and Saturdays. Adult programs include karate, jujitsu and a great fitness program aerobic kickboxing program.
New Horizon Karate is open Monday - Thursday and also on Saturdays for a full schedule. Special program for student with Autism and Hyperactivity are available as well as Adaptive Martial Arts fro student with physical challenges.
Classes are fun and our staff is ready to help our students learn at their own pace. Student will find success our job is to help them.

How long have you been in business?
We first opened in Gardner from 1985 and in West Boylston in 1986. We sold the Gardner branch in the 1990's and have concentrated on our West Boylston school since.
What is your primary product or service?
We teach karate, jujitsu and aerobic kickboxing. We also have programs in Adaptive Martial Arts for individuals with physical challenges and a Unique Autism Program for students with Autism and hyperactivity.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I first started studying the martial arts a little over 40 yrs. ago. I have had the great fortune to study with many great martial artists over the last 40 plus years. I purchased the Gardner, MA karate school and then opened West Boylston MA about a year and a half after that. I sold the Gardner, MA school and have been teaching in West Boylston, MA ever since. I have Black belt in Kempo & Kenpo Karate, Kempo JuJitsu, Goju-Ryu, Yoshitsune & Combat JuJitsu. I have also Studied Kung fu, Tai Chi and a little Aikido.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We are a service business no big egos. We teach self defense and practical martial arts. Our school slogan is "Do what is right for no other reason than it is right". We have a unique character development program that goes hand in hand with our karate program. We also do not give belts based on attendance. The martial arts is about personal achievement and success our job is to help the student reach that success.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We have one location in West Boylston, MA. Our goal is to teach quality martial arts and help the students find confidence and gain the pride that only come true success.

We are located in Meadowbrook Plaza at 360 West Boylston St. (Rt.12) in West Boylston, MA on the Worcester/West Boylston line. Take exit 4 off I-190, turn left we are the first plaza on your left. We are across from Steve's Pizza.

Which areas do you service?
We are minutes away from Worcester, Holden, Sterling, Clinton, Lancaster, Boylston, Shrewsbury. Leominster is only 25 min. away. We have students from Auburn, Leominster, Gardner, and Northborough.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Jim Alty is Master instructor with over 40 yrs. in the martial arts. Jim teach and oversees the program daily.
What are your hours of operation?
We are open Monday - Thursday from 11:00 AM - 9: 30 PM plus Saturday from 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM. We are closed on Friday & Sunday.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
Many parent have told me that their child's future success were in a large part to the lesson then learned here. Our program tries to help a child see their success and believe they can do it. Students gain confidence by effort and achievement and learn to find success.
